Dolby Atmos, look Up Look Down!

DTS-X-and-Dolby-Atmos

Dolby Atmos is a new sound tech from Dolby Labs that will amaze you. You all most feel the sound now as it passes by you. You get the sensation that is below you to the left then it zooms up over your head to the right. This is what I imagined surround sound to be. To experience Dolby Atmos 3 Demonical sound and DTS:X you will need another 1 to 3 pairs of speakers.

So now you’re asking what is DTS:X. So… before I answer that I just say, both DTS:X and Dolby Atmos soundtracks are available on standard Blu-ray DVDs, as well as the newer 4K versions. DTS:X is by DTS, Inc. (formerly known as Digital Theater Systems, Inc.), an American company specializing in digital surround sound formats.

Well DTS: X and Dolby Atmos are ways to put sound objects in 3D space in your room. The 3D space made of "objects", up to 128 for Atmos and an unlimited number for DTS:X. So, you might think that DTS:X is better than Atmos and I think you are right but in truth you can’t really tell and last count there are more Blu-ray and 4K DVDs out there encoded in Dolby Atmos and all most all receivers will be able to play both formats of this 3D sound. So, what is the best way to experience this Surround Sound… More on that in my next posting…
